Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Ann-Marie Barter, a chiropractor who serves Niwot, Longmont, Boulder, Lyons, Louisville, Lafayette and the surrounding communities in the Denver Metro Area.
Dr. Ann graduated from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon, an accredited 4 year Doctoral program that is considered a leader in evidence-based medicine, and the first Chiropractic school to be awarded a federal research grant.
Dr. Ann underwent rigorous clinical training with some of the finest chiropractors. Dr. Ann has also undergone advanced training in Applied Kinesiology, completing over 400 extra classroom hours and is certified to practice Applied Kinesiology. She has also studied Functional Blood Chemistry under Dr. Kharrazian.
Dr. Ann also hosts The Fearless Health Podcast. The show is dedicated to all thing’s natural health and wellness. At 16, Dr. Ann went to the doctor. She didn’t feel well, but the doctor told her she was normal. One day, Dr. Ann had terrible stomach pain, she went to a different doctor. It turns out, Dr. Ann’s appendix exploded. Later, Dr. Ann had severe hives that sent her to the emergency room. No one talked to her about diet. So, she sought care from natural providers. Ann meets patients who just can’t change their diets. Person after person, Dr. Ann wanted to know what was going on. Neurotransmitters are messengers for your body. They work in the brain and make us feel good. However, they also run digestion, muscle coordination, and other functions. When we think about adrenal health, dopamine shares a pathway with our fight or flight chemicals. It’s associated with our adrenal health. Sometimes when someone is exhausted, it could be dopamine depletion. Dopamine can become depleted for a variety of reasons. Some people do not methylate correctly. You need certain chemicals to make the dopamine conversion. There is a test to figure out how your pathways are working.
