Are you struggling with:
Unregulated blood sugar, either high or low, will have an effect on things like mood, ability to handle stress, weight fluctuations, and even your quality of sleep. Dis-regulated blood sugar affects 90% of the population and is easy to stabilize using specific diet protocols and supplementation.
85% of Americans have hypoglycemia (also known as low blood sugar). Blood sugar regulation is a key indicator in predicting cardiovascular disease including risk of stroke. In a study of average weight women between the ages of 15 and 49, 20% had some sort of dysglycemia, meaning unregulated blood sugar.
Blood sugar is one of the most important indicators of health. If your system can’t regulate blood sugar effectively, you are not going to be able to heal other systems that may be awry. Stabilization of different body systems will help to relieve symptoms associated with your weight, mood, energy levels, sleep, hormone balance, immune system, and thyroid function.
Having chronic swings in your blood sugar has major systemic effects, and can ultimately lead to things like functional or reactive hypoglycemia, cardiovascular disease, adrenal fatigue, insulin-resistance and/or diabetes.
Do you ever experience irritability when hungry, shakiness between meals or if meals are delayed, difficulty losing weight, trouble falling asleep, waking up at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning for no reason, fatigue, sugar cravings, needing coffee to get through the day, fatigue specifically after meals, headaches, constant hunger?
All of these symptoms are signs of blood sugar dis-regulation. Now contrary to what you may think, a lot of people with blood sugar dis-regulation aren’t necessarily overweight. Many times these people are even fairly healthy eaters.
Sometimes it’s a matter of high stress, skipping meals or waiting too long between meals, and/or replacing food with coffee. High sugar, carbohydrate heavy eating, and highly processed diets are another culprit.
The good news is that you can fix this naturally by changing your diet and supplementing with various herbs.

I started seeing Dr. Ann Barter several months ago for neck and lower back pain. I also had a lump in my neck that had been there for several years. After seeing an ENT doctor, the Radiologist, a Cytologist, and having it biopsied, nobody could tell me what it was. I was extremely frustrated and had spent so much time and money trying to figure out what was going on. My first visit with Dr. Ann she immediately was able to tell me what it was and started treatments. Now the lump is pretty much gone and I can move my neck again! As a dental hygienist, my posture is not the greatest and I am constantly hunched over and experience neck and back pain. After one adjustment I was out of pain. I’ve been to other chiropractors before and have been relatively happy with them, but she exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond! I’ve never had such a thorough appt before. She really took the time to listen to my concerns and not only treated my chiropractic needs but also helped me with my diet and nutrition. I am a sugarholic and a fast food junkie. She gave me some supplements (anti-sugar pills) that stopped my sugar cravings. I also had bursitis in my hip pretty bad and Dr. Ann was able to help alleviate the pain with adjustments, supplements, stretches and exercises. She is extremely knowledgeable and really cares about your overall health! Don’t waste your time going somewhere else, you will be extremely pleased with your experience at Alternative Family Medicine!!
